Over 200 internet bidders from around the country joined a filled auction house in Beloit, WI on Saturday, April 17th for a fast-moving cataloged firearms and sporting goods auction conducted by United Country Beloit Auction Service, Inc.
The hand guns, long guns, ammo, & other sporting goods, belonging primarily to one long-time collector, represented a broad range of manufacturers and attracted active bidding in-house and on-line. In addition to auction attendees, successful internet buyers were from 25 different states. Auction prices listed in this article do not include the buyer’s fee.
Auctioneers Richard Ranft, CAI,GPPA,AARE,REALTOR, and Bill Perkins, CAI,GPPA,REALTOR, maintained a quick-paced auction with the assistance of staff members Brian Heikkinen and Dave Norris, who handled the live internet bidding with Proxibid. Mary Wabel, Billie Jo Norris, Pat Ranft, and Lyle Harvell staffed the office, clerked, and checked out buyers. George Goecks, licensed firearms dealer, processed all the federal and state firearms registration.
Commenting on the highly active internet bidding during this firearms auction, Ranft said, “We firmly believe that you can’t conduct a specialty auction properly without involving internet bidders from throughout the country. In the years we’ve offered this service, we’ve seen an increase in the number of bidders from outside the U.S. as well.”
Ranft and Perkins are planning another firearms and sporting goods auction and welcome inquiries from firearms owners interested in consigning to this upcoming event.
